Bohup : des tapis et des coussins confectionnés à partir de tissus récupérés
Christine Gerard et Alan Anic ont lancé en mai 2020 Bohup, une boutique en ligne de décoration. Leur credo : l’upcycling. Le duo mère-fils propose des tapis, des coussins, des tissages muraux et des accessoires confectionnés à partir de tissus voués à être jetés (chutes de tissus, nappes, rideaux, vêtements).
L’upcycling (ou surcyclage en français) gagne du terrain dans l’industrie de la mode. Désireuses de s’inscrire dans une démarche plus éthique, de nombreuses marques font désormais le pari de concevoir leurs vêtements uniquement à partir de tissus déjà existants. Elles récupèrent des stocks de tissus délaissés pour leur offrir une seconde vie, transforment des nappes, des draps ou encore des anciens rideaux en pièces ultra-désirables.
Une tendance écolo qui séduit également le monde de la décoration d’intérieur. De plus en plus de créateurs misent sur le surcyclage pour faire des objets de déco éco-friendly. C’est le cas de Christine Gerard et Alan Anic, deux Orléanais. Ensemble, ils ont lancé en mai dernier Bohup, une boutique en ligne d’objets de décoration confectionnés à partir de tissus récupérés.
Bohup : de la déco upcyclée et artisanale
Le duo mère-fils a développé une gamme de coussins, de tapis, de tissages muraux et d’accessoires (vide-poches, panières) entièrement upcyclés. Et toutes leurs pièces, de style bohème, sont réalisées à la main. Christine et Alan, basés à Orléans, travaillent en partenariat direct avec des artisans indépendants et des structures de l’économie sociale et solaire, en France, au Maroc et au Portugal.
Leurs vide-poches sont fabriqués artisanalement par une couturière française des Hauts-de-France, à partir d’anciens tissus d’ameublement en coton ou en lin (nappes, rideaux) collectés dans des recycleries comme Emmaüs. « Nous avons aussi effectué un partenariat avec Rayon Vert, une entreprise spécialisée dans l’upcycling située à Clamart (Ile-de-France, Ndlr) pour concevoir une série de panières et de cache-pots avec du tissu de seconde main et des bâches publicitaires », précise Alan.
Certains coussins de leur collection sont conçus en France avec des nappes ou des rideaux, ou au Portugal avec des chutes de coton jersey (principalement utilisé pour faire des tee-shirts). D’autres sont réalisés en collaboration avec Koun, une entreprise de réinsertion professionnelle spécialisée dans l’upcycling et située à Casablanca au Maroc. Ces coussins colorés sont confectionnés à partir de chutes de tissus collectées dans des usines textiles casablancaises, et plus étonnant, à partir de bandes de plastique et de bandes de cassettes VHS. « Les tissus peuvent être en coton, en laine ou en synthétique. Tout dépend de ce qui a pu être récupéré. »
Des tapis boucherouites en vêtements
Les tissages muraux, élaborés par des tisserandes de la région de Casablanca, sont aussi en chutes de tissus. Quant aux tapis, les cofondateurs de Bohup proposent deux gammes : des tapis en lirette conçus au Portugal à partir de chutes de coton jersey, et des tapis boucherouites, pièces phares de Bohup.
« Ce sont des tapis traditionnels de la culture berbère. Ils étaient confectionnés avec des vieux vêtements des familles, mais au fil du temps et avec le développement des tapis industriels et des moquettes au coût abordable, ils se sont un peu retrouvés au placard », explique Alan. Les cofondateurs ont remis au goût du jour ces tapis historiques. Et pour les confectionner, ils ont fait appel à des artisanes d’une coopérative de Casablanca. « Les tapis sont fabriqués à partir de chutes de l’industrie et de l’artisanat textile de la région. Les tissus sont neufs, mais pour respecter la tradition marocaine, certains tapis sont aussi fabriqués à partir de vieux vêtements. » Ces habits sont découpés et tissés à la main.
Bohup est une très belle initiative. Christine et Alan offrent une seconde vie à des tissus voués à être jetés et valorisent les savoir-faire. Sur son site, le duo a aussi créé un espace créateurs.
